Intensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Program in Pennsylvania

Intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment is an outpatient level of care intended to provide continuing support for clients as they resume work or school. Intensive outpatient treatment is perfect for those who have completed a residential and partial hospitalization program and who want to continue treatment while transitioning back to their families and communities.

Some clients may be suitable for our intensive outpatient program without completing a residential treatment program first. All clients are assessed at admission for a clinical decision on the type of care they need. For clients with a co-occurring disorder, such as anxiety or bipolar disorder, we recommend starting with our residential and partial programs before moving into our Hanover intensive outpatient program.

We tailor our Pennsylvania intensive outpatient drug and alcohol rehab programs to suit the needs of each client. Our IOP program includes:

BriteLife clients stay in IOP for varying time lengths. During this period, clients receive individualized care and nine hours of group therapy weekly. Intensive outpatient includes a combination of individual and group sessions in a beautiful setting in southeast Pennsylvania. Our goal is to encourage clients with the skills and information they need to maintain sobriety. We do everything possible to adapt to clients’ schedules and ensure they continue to grow in their recovery.

Group Therapy in Pennsylvania

Group therapy offers a lively environment for clients, and is at the heart of our Pennsylvania IOP program. Group therapy assembles all clients enrolled in our IOP together for routine group sessions. Group therapy topics vary with the therapist directing the group. Frequently, the counselor puts weight on a specific topic for the meeting and gives clients a chance to relate to it. Some psychiatrists allow for a more open discussion structure, whereas others keep the conversation targeted to a special theme like relapse prevention, for instance.

By participating in a topic, engaging in a group activity, or even just attending to listen and learn, clients can practice their relapse prevention skills while supporting the group. Clients feel a part of something larger than themselves, which is stark contrast from the lonely world of addiction.
